Head of Compensation, EMEA

Reporting to the International Head of Compensation and Benefits, this role will oversee a team with responsibility for the management and implementation of compensation and regulatory programmes across the region.

Reporting to the International Head of Compensation and Benefits, this role will oversee a team with responsibility for the management and implementation of compensation and regulatory programmes across the region.

The Head of Compensation, EMEA will provide compensation leadership on a variety of matters including compensation program design and implementation, organisation restructuring and year end compensation planning.

The main duties of the role involve the following:

  • Partner with business unit leaders and broader Total Reward teams to develop and deploy total reward solutions that drive outcomes for the business and are linked to the overall Total Compensation strategy/philosophy.
  • Lead the EMEA Compensation team to manage and implement the Annual Review Cycle for EMEA
  • Provide guidance to Business Unit leaders on salary and incentive proposals
  • In close partnership with the regulatory Reward team, provide oversight on the management of the annual compensation cycle for EMEA MRTs and Identified Staff
  • Prepare and present materials for the various remuneration governance groups such as local/regional and global Remuneration Committees
  • In partnership with EMEA Regulatory Reward Team and Executive Compensation team, develop and ensure timely delivery of employee communications to facilitate the understanding of remuneration regulatory requirements for regular employees and their managers.
  • Support HR Consulting Functions and Talent Acquisition on offers for EMEA Regulated Roles e.g. offering complex guarantees, retention awards or buy-outs
  • Undertake related global compensation project work in partnership with the global Compensation function
  • Lead compensation workstream for EMEA M&A projects and contribute to other strategic compensation projects.
  • Carry out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues
  • Use data, analytics and internal insights to develop solutions that help drive business results. Oversee the participation in various compensation surveys and the management of market data process, including job matching and data analysis for EMEA

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and/or functional expertise in designing/implementing compensation programmes in a Financial Services environment
  • Experience of all aspects of the annual compensation cycle including the salary and bonus review, market data collection and analysis, market research and budgeting for salary increases
  • Experience of managing teams is essential with the ability to effectively work in a global matrixed organisation
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory legislation to applicable Compensation policies and procedures
  • Advanced level Excel skills
  • Consulting and client servicing skills, ability to influence senior management
  • Sound project management skills
