It’s Coming Home

Working from home,
Working from home, I’m working,
I’m working from home.

Working from home,
Working from home, I’m working,
I’m working from home.

Agencies laughed me out the door,
They’d seen it all before,
They just know, they’re so sure
That I’m gonna throw it away, career blown all away
But at home I will stay.

‘Cause I remember train lines never work!
Commute has got me screaming,
Thirty miles to work
Always late for meetings.

So many jokes, so many sneers,
But all those ‘post-work beers’
Wear you down, through the years,
So I will see my kids before bed,
Promise stories are read,
Maybe water the lawn,

And eat in daylight.

Job boards on alert!
Resume is gleaming,
Thirty miles to work
Spent the whole time eating!

I know I was thin, but I could be again..

Working from home,
Working from home, I’m working,
I’m working from home.

Working from home,
Working from home, I’m working,
I’m working from home.
