My approach is based on gaining a thorough understanding of my client’s business both from an operational and cultural perspective allowing me to identify the most relevant talent for their needs, a genuine interest in the technology also helps. This focus has led to long term client relationships which I value beyond all else.

Outside of work I’m a keen (but not overly talented) cricketer and have a general interest in health and fitness, at least managing to maintain some use of my Sports Science degree!

During my career to date, I have been fortunate to work with numerous talented individuals and support a wide range of growing SME's and leading international brands. Having grown up with a natural interest in all things marketing and digital, I have continued to stay at the forefront of current trends through continuous networking, and sharing insights with individuals up to and including board level in order to truly understand the markets in which I specialise.

I especially enjoy a challenge, whether that be finding that niche skill set for a client and enabling someone to progress their personal career or running the Brighton marathon (I'm not a natural runner, but it is amazing what you can do once you put your mind to it). I am also a keen cyclist and swimmer, with plans to run triathlons in the near future - if nothing else, to burn off the calories from eating out at the weekends!

During my 18 year career within Finance recruitment I have worked with a wide range of business sectors and cultures. I naturally engage with a consultative and supportive style which lends itself to open discussion and the building of a trusting relationship. I do not try to fit square pegs in round holes, I work alongside both client and candidate and appreciate the emotions and pressure people experience when they explore new opportunities, equally when they hire into their team. Recruitment of the right people is key to the success of every business, portraying the opportunity to the external market in the right way can make the difference in securing the best talent, particularly the more ‘passive’ seeker who cannot be sold to or feel under pressure during the process. My established network is extensive throughout Herts, Beds, Bucks and London; typically the SME and P/E backed ventures.

I am fortunate to have had such a fulfilling career in recruitment; the role I play brings people together and has allowed me to see ‘inside’ businesses across a diverse range. My personal life is a contrast with 2 young children, each with a dog and a pony; my weekends are hectic, exhausting and emotional.

My specialist sectors are property, construction and professional services, I work on mid management through to Director level Marketing & Communications positions within these sectors.

I am not a bad pianist so when I am not working I try to play as much as I can, although I am pretty rusty these days I still enjoy it!

I have over 13 years’ recruitment experience, specialising in Marketing, Business Development, Communications and Bids roles into the Professional Services & Property sectors. I firmly believe in ethical recruitment and being seen as a trusted partner to both clients and candidates alike. I am very proud to be able to say that many clients I started working with over a decade ago are still working with me today, and this has given me an in-depth and ‘warts and all’ understanding of their cultures and expectations and the kind of candidate who would specifically fit with each of them.

I am also very proud of my extensive and loyal candidate network, and I have several candidates who I have placed 3 or 4 times over the years, and have seen them grow from managers up to senior directors. Being able to say I have placed the director in a team I am recruiting into gives me a strong advantage over my competitors and allows me to brief candidates to a level that others may not be able to do.

Outside of work I have two young boys who keep my feet firmly on the ground. I have become a Softplay ninja, a world authority on all things Transformers-related, and have been told I make the best fairy cakes in the whole universe! In my (brief) spare time I like to go on long walks, ideally by the sea where there is no Wi-Fi. And when I grow up I want to be the lead guitarist in Guns N’ Roses!

My client base ranges from small start-ups to global Blue Chip brands, for whom I recruit across the full spectrum of sales, marketing, product and digital roles, with a specific focus across the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) sectors. Additionally, I also specialise in market research, insight and analytical roles, both for agencies and client side brands.

My strong network is built and maintained through a real interest in the clients I partner with. I believe it is crucial to understand each client on its individual merits, operating in both a consultative and supportive capacity to build long term relationships - only then can I fully undertake my role in supporting their development and commercial success through highlighting the required talent in the most effective way.

Outside of recruitment, I spend much of my time with my daughter and wife - whether this is in the garden, cooking, socialising with friends, or generally chasing my energetic daughter round our village.
